Winners of the 2016 Social Security Institution Awards as part of the “National Mobilization in Work Life” project implemented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security are announced.
Constructing the biggest airport of the world from scratch, İGA ranked the “number one company in Turkey” in the category “Company Providing the Highest Number of Jobs”, and the third among companies paying the highest Premium.
Upon its construction and completion, İstanbul New Airport will move Turkey to the pinnacle of the field of aviation. İGA, which will assume the operation of the New Airport upon its completion for a period of 25 years, made a mark with its contribution to employment in 2016. In line with the “National Mobilization in Work Life” project implemented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the employment champions of Turkey received their awards at a ceremony held by the Social Security Institution.
Owing to its successful performance, İGA ranked the “number one company in Turkey” in the category “Company Providing the Highest Number of Jobs”, and the third in Turkey in the category “Company Paying the Highest Premium.” Working at full speed to launch the Istanbul New Airport for the city of Istanbul, IGA employs 23.200 blue collar and 2800 white collar workers as per May 2017. In summer months, the number of employees is expected to increase to 30.000. Director of Human Resources at İGA, Demet Gursoy, who received the award from Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security Orhan Yegin, said the following: “We are highly proud to be managing the project that employs the highest number of blue collar employees in Turkey. In our country, one of the most important areas of economy is employment. As our contribution to this field is being awarded, we are very proud and motivated to be returning home with two trophies. When completed, İstanbul New Airport will contribute to the employment of 225.000 people both directly and indirectly. The project is progressing worthily of our country, thanks to the power and expertise of our teammates. We are hoping to crown this achievement in other categories in coming years.”
