Yusuf Akçayoğlu, the CEO of İGA, attended the Civil Aviation Forum hosted by the General Directorate of State Airport Authority (DHMI) last week. The event sponsored by İGA brought together the representatives of the aviation industry. In the forum, first of its kind in Turkey, problems and solution recommendations in the aviation industry were addressed.
DHMI General Manager Serdar Hüseyin Yıldırım, during his opening speech, explained that digitalization is a major phenomenon in this era, and how the need for speed that comes along with digitalization amplifies the importance of the aviation industry. Yıldırım, emphasizing that the rate of advancement in Turkish aviation industry outperforms the global averages, said: “As DHMI, we built many airports and started operations. We significantly reinforced our infrastructure. At the moment we are building the world’s largest airport in Istanbul. Besides, we are rapidly improving the infrastructure of our airports. Project ‘Smart’ is up and running, ready to make operations. The Turkish airspace is controlled from a single center.
Yusuf Akçayoğlu, the CEO of İGA, evaluated the first Civil Aviation Forum and expressed that serving an important purpose this platform is used to exchange ideas and identify areas of improvement.
