Dear Readers,

The speed of construction on the site in the district of Arnavutköy on the Black Sea has increased yet again. Currently, 21,500 workers are giving their best every day.

Around 30 percent of the first phase of the construction work on Istanbul’s new airport is complete. One of our hallmarks is our breathtaking air traffic control (ATC) tower; its construction has commenced and was celebrated with a groundbreaking ceremony. The tower will be delivered in six months, right on schedule, as is the whole airport, which will open in the first half of 2018. Many airlines and airline companies have already rented spaces at Istanbul New Airport, which will position Turkey as a global aviation hub in the future.

Progress is not only being made on the construction site, which spans 11,000 football fields, but elsewhere as well. Another milestone in infrastructure, the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, has been opened. The bridge, which stretches 1,408 meters over the Bosporus, has eight highway lanes and two railway lanes. It is expected to alleviate traffic volume on the existing Bosporus bridges and will help to ensure a safe flow of traffic from the airport to the city and vice versa.

In this newsletter, you can find out more about the progress at the construction site. We are also proud that Istanbul New Airport (INA) has been shortlisted yet again for a prestigious architectural award. And do take a look at the video we took to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. Furthermore, you are cordially invited to experience the richness of our cultural heritage – at the SantralIstanbul, a unique arts and cultural complex located at the upper end of the famous Golden Horn.
